A pokie machine whether real or online will always win in the long term. However, in the short term anything can happen and there are certain tips, secrets and observations you can make to better your chances of winning. Thus while we understand that the pokie machine will beat most people most of the time we seek here to ensure that you are one of the exceptions.
Play online
The first thing you can do to ensure a better chance of winning is to play pokies online rather than in a pub, club or casino. The reason for this is that online pokie machines have a much higher payout percentage because their overhead costs are lower so they can spend more money on payouts rather than on constructing and transporting the machines. Additionally, joining up and playing at an online casino will often entitle you top a sign up bonus which you won’t get in the pub. Online pokie machines also have tens of thousands of people playing simultaneously from the around the world which in turn creates gigantic progressive jackpots reaching the millions of dollars.
Tactics
Pokie games payout cyclically, which means you shouldn’t keep playing on one machine that isn’t paying anything out to you. So if you don’t see any meaningful returns after spending about 20% of your outlay move on to another game. Another tactic is to alternative the amount of money you place on each spin. By often changing your stake you will see how it pays out for different amounts and get a feel and understanding of the structure and systems of its payouts. The double up feature can also be used tactically and there is always a 50/50 chance of winning on it which is slightly higher than on a regular spin. So if you think that the machine is ripe for paying out it would be worthwhile playing the double up feature and giving yourself a great opportunity to win big.
